Day 3 of the 5-Day Challenge and Cool Pictures of Rocket

11. Critique your horses' conformation

I am going to do this in a separate post, a la Cob Jockey.  I realized I've been leaving Rocket out of my previous answers, so I want to analyze her conformation as well as Lex's. I think Lex is DREAMY, so be prepared for that. Rocket is a baby but I'll do my best to look at where she is right now.

12. Horse's favorite riding exercise

Rocket isn't under saddle yet, so I still can't discuss her, I guess. Lex LOVES LOVES LOVES stretching exercises. If she can put her nose on the ground, she will. It is her favorite thing at this stage of her education.

13. Favorite spa day products

Eh, I don't really do "spa days" with my girls. Again, Rocket isn't with me. Lex gets groomed thoroughly every day. My two favorite implements are a curry comb and a towel. Together, they really bring out the shine. However, I've recently been turned onto some magical tail stuff that I can no longer live without. Lex has the world's most pathetic tail, but I put this stuff in and pick through it a bit with my fingers now and then and I think it's coming along.

14. Three best things about your horse
Lex:
1. She is a delight to be around.
2. She is very smart indeed.
3. She's stunning, which is rewarding because I work so hard to keep her looking good.

Rocket:
1. She is THE CUTEST.
2. She is also quite smart.
3. She seems to have a good brain.

15. Favorite picture of your horse

My favorite picture of Lex is one I just put on the blog, so forgive the repeat.

It's harder for me to choose my favorite picture of Rocket, but if I had to pick, I'd go with this one.

Speaking of Rocket pictures! My sister got married recently, and her new brother-in-law stayed with my parents for a few days before the wedding. He is a very nice person and a good photographer. I don't think he has much horse experience, but he was quite taken with Rocket and so he got several good shots of her that he was generous enough to send me. Enjoy.

From the front, her head looks almost refined. And I LOVE her ears.

Such a quiet looking girl.

Rocket loves her Uncle TJ.

Eating hay is very srs bizness.

Werq that purple rope halter, grrl.

Fit to be tied.
I miss that furry filly so much! I can't wait to see her soon.

  2. Rocket is a cutie!! My horse, Shy, loves it when I stretch her from the ground. I will do a back leg and when I get to the other side, she has that leg up and ready for me.

    1. Aw! That sounds adorable. I guess horses get the endorphin release from stretching that people do. :)
